Yesterday I found out a super little secret Shhhhhhh... the Weather Machine... it is located in Pioneer Square and depending on the weather conditions it shows one of three symbols which pops out of the top at noon to show the next days weather forecast! Featured above is the Blue Heron which means rainy weather! The other two are the Dragon which represents stormy weather and the Sun which means... I'll let you figure that one out :) When the symbol changes a fanfare goes off as the old symbol retracts into the orb and a new one is presented. Up and down the pole, lights flash in joyful triumph over nature! The lights also double as a thermometer in warmer times which are hopefully just around the corner :) It's so wonderful and yet numerous people I have told knew nothing of its existence. Even I didn't notice it until now, two years after the fact.
