my last day of non-work. Happy Fourth! i miss you mom and papa! i think we are both experiencing the ugly hot days of summer. try to keep cool! our first year tradition happened yet again this year at Sauvie Island in celebration of kori's first year in PDX in search of the perfect berry is where our journey begins...
...we stumbled upon a few good blueberries...
...the strawberry patch was slim-picking but i did not rest until i found some that would be worthy to add to the berry pile already...
...jen cuts some lavendar...
...we took four still shots of this scene. all in all, jen looks to the left, to the right, up and down and it was great fun scrolling from pic to pic...
...and our fairy tale ends at the east esplanade.

I was actually cold -- yes, cold -- while watching fireworks last night. The weather was surprisingly mild and pleasant. We went kayaking at the lake yesterday morning, and then had lunch on a little island -- pimetto cheese sandwiches, freshly made humus, and strawberries. Yum.

Then we went and watched great fireworks at another lake. I think everyone had fun. We missed you.

yay! i picked strawberries on the fourth! i missed you guys too... i saw kayaks on the willamette river while the fireworks were taking place and i couldn't help to think, how stupid is it to paddle that close to the fireworks barge. hmmmmmm... YOU like pimento cheese. here. the weather is a little too warm during the day but the night is perfect for laying on my bed with two fans directly on me wishing for airconditioning. BUT that is okay because in a few more days the weather will go back to what i am accustom too.

i must mention... as jen, kori and I were walking back to the car afta the fireworks show, i heard the sounds of the icecream man truck. i walked right past it and low and behold there was KRISTINA in line for an ice cream. of all places, within the Portland masses, i see my girl Kristina. i tapped her on the shoulder and she was like 'hey buddy.'
