Be there! not sure if i will make it but to all those other adventurous souls...

was introduced to me this evening by a ms. jen. i happened to bump into her on my way to whole foods this evening. she was on her way to cacao and when i told her that i never heard of the place, she was like 'what? What! you must come with me then." cacao is like a boutique for chocolate. i couldn't resist yet i was troubled by what i should walk out with. jen purchased her mother a few treats as well a few for herself: something with rose in it. i, on the other hand, grabbed for the only thing that i could relate to and that was Oaxaca. i wanted to pursue a degree in Anthropology at one point but ended up with a Chemistry degree... i'm not much of a chocolate lover as my friend Jen is but after talking more with the owners, aubrey and jesse, i ended up purchasing a bar of chocolate by vosges. both Jen and I were introduced to the world of Chocolate at this point. like wine and cheese, etc. chocolate is to be enjoyed as follows:

see... firstly, there should be a glossy shine to the bar indicating good temper
smell...rub your thumb on the chocolate to help release the aromas
snap...quality chocolate should always be dry to the touch
taste...place the chocolate on your tongue and press it to the roof of your mouth. within 30 seconds, the chocolate should melt.
feel...chillies lure with an addictive, magnetic pull. in anticipation of eating chillies, does your heart pitter-patter and your tongue start to warm? your immune system will thank you for the antioxidants and vitamins chillies bring. and, as your blood vessels course with life and your metabolism increases, sit back and enjoy the natural high.

shoooooooo... is anyone wondering what else i could be talking about here... geez. now i see why chocolate can be so addicting to some. unfortunately, i have more of a salty graving. on on another note, i should title my blog site, conversations from my balcony
