p-town publicist bette sinclair was mentioned in the portland tribune this week. i've been meaning to give her a call. it started out with a mass 'switcharoo email' initiated by jehan - than jess got wind of it - which led to an explosion of an email listing out the entire hospitality community, name after phone number after name of which bette's name appeared on... that was about 8 months ago now when i was glued to making one thing happen and that was finding me a job in portland. bette was like 'give me a call when you do make it over here.' so... why many of you ask did i scope out portland. well... its a long story, over a cup of tea or beer ;), but my first visit with my sister jehan in portland/eugene is when i realized - i have to be here. in the photos of my last few days in oregon, you can tell i did not want to go back to the south. ever since, i've frequented the NW and my love for it became imminent. it is that larger than life feeling that beckoned me to this beautiful land.
quip means joke, wise crack, clever remark
kowtowing means ingratiating, apple polishing, backslapping
ire means rage, fury, anger
so... with my bonus check (a small portion of it), i plan to buy a bike as soon i get check-in-hand. i've walked into i do not know how many stores but its like walking into a different world. some of the bikes are outrageously expensive. but, if it were a passion of mine, i would probably fork the money into a $4,995 bike. yea, right, about that... ;) i'm not sure what brand to go with yet but the diamondbacks' look nice.
OFF to buy me a chocolate crossiant from my favorite bakery across the street.
