the tiny cog(s): the ventral tegmental area and the caudate nucleus

BEFORE

AFTER

it is a science fact that two people who have been together a long time experience the move from the dopamine-drenched state of romantic love to the relative quiet of an oxytocin-induced attachment. oxytocin is a hormone that promotes a feeling of connection, bonding. it is related when we hug or are intimate with our partners. finding the answers can be oh-so-bitter-sweet. ;)

the pacific ocean was beautiful this weekend. depoe bay is the worlds' smallest harbor. i got home and sunk into a calming stupor.

stopped to stretch our legs at Neahkanie Mountain overlooking Nehalem Bay. 1,661 foot high mountain.

depoe bay: six-acre harbor is the setting for the academy award winning film - one flew over the cuckoo's nest. nice ;). the spouting horn, a natural cleft in the basalt cliffs on the waterfront, blasts seawater skyward during heavy weather...
