Our little boy

Sam is now a little over a week old and he is simply amazing. This little creation made out of a deep love makes my heart happy and I want to share my joy with you. Unfortunately, not all was easy going in the beginning. I endured on my first day of an induced labor a 12 hour wait followed by another 8 hour wait using medication to get things moving, followed by a mechanical procedure to full on contractions and on the third day after four hours of pushing, Sam's head was crooked and a c-section was necessary. This all happened with a few scares such as having to wear an oxygen mask and having heard, whoops the epidural went in too far. I was shaking from the sternum up once I got into the operating room. But once I heard Sam's first cry, I thought to myself everything is going to be A-okay. Sam was born on Saturday, July 20th at 11:15pm, 9 pounds 5 ounces, 21.6 cm long. That's one big baby! Steven, Sam and I remained in the recovery room for another 2 days. I am still experiencing as of today some pretty bad headaches compliments of the epidural. Despite all of this, Steven and I are in love all over again and it's been wonderful having his parents here helping us out. Skyping with my parents has been a delight as well. Love to all...

What a handsome young man!!! It has been wonderful following your blog since you posted a note offering to help PCT hikers many, many years ago. It's so happy to read about someone finding true love and having a happy and wonderful family. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and photos.
