[Above photo taken at the restaurant Wild Abandon the night before my birthday - enjoyed an eclectic-american entree with a Northwest flair, hehe] May there be peace and quiet in my home over the weekend. I'd like to share some really important news with you and that is my photos will be on show on a permanent basis at the new bar/restaurant - Element - that my boyfriend is a partner of opening soon January, 2010. Can you say, Cha-ching. In other news, I secured a nice piece of business with a very affluent company for January, 2010 which kept the hotel opened during a scheduled week closure. I have to say this is by far a great (and huge) accomplishment for me. Do I get a pat on the back or what? Toot, toot. There is so much to be grateful for right now. When I look back on my life, the last four years have played out just perfectly. My birthday weekend - last weekend - was all a 36 year old could ever hope for (for future reference, I will be turning 35 from here on out). Steven got me a flexible tripod for my camera (guerilla style technique), a book on Exposure, Season 3 to It's always sunny in Philadelphia, a bottle of white wine from the Willamette Valley and a pair of knee-high socks. Mom got me this amazing bright purple sweater, cardigan and earrings. My sisters and brother called and I received my very first (probably my only) text message from my father (Papa). Never hurt to add some shock value on my birthday, right? Steven's mom got me two pairs of knee-high socks, my favorite and a card front reads ' 4 out of 5 doctors agree that at your age, you should slow down and take it easy.. Guess we know what that means'... inside of card reads 'Party with docter #5.' hehe. Dom&Dan gave me this neat wine bottle case with a 3 buck chuck inside of it and a handmade card. Marguerite&Chris took us out for dinner to Blue Hour and gave me a book entitled Sips&Apps by Kathy Casey with some glass decorated martini stirrers. I'm another year older another year here. New likes this year: all the visits from parents&friends, my photos were finally recognized in an art gallery, art show and published in a Portland-based coffee tablebook project, soon-to-be an aunt and secretly loving that my sister is giving birth to a Sagittarius baby (just like me, muhahahahaha), ginger beer and my new Canon G11. Dislikes this year: Brothers with horrible timing. ;)
