the Hula

to dance the hula you need a Lai
a song to sing, and guitars to play.
so here’s your sarong-Helen-the music’s ready
dance with joyful rhythm, slow, warm and steady.

by Luis Maestre who sits in a wheelchair every Wednesday at the SW park blocks handing out [his] poetry.
he wrote this for us 3 years ago today.

Are the British on their way too? Pretty flowers. I picked the first gardenia to bloom at the office, and it is making my office smell quite nice. Aren't fresh flowers nice? They really add brightness and joy to a room. I always mean to cut some more often.

Right now we have some plain daisies (what is the plural of daisy?) on the table, and they are cheerful.

Last day of the month is billing day and I've got two to three more files to bill. Woo-hoo. Have a good one.

You know, the only time you comment this much is when, well, I have a theory, hmmmmmmmm. Anyways, I love LOVE flowers. They definately brighten up a room. It's the last day of the Trimester and I successfully exceeded my goals. Hip, hip hooray. Talk about a tough haul, thank you everyone for working with me on your programs.

What do you mean are the British on the way? My mom just emailed me with "Today in Holland it is Queensday and usually there are celebrations, concerts, parades like 4th of July. But something horrible happened. Somebody in a car got thru the barricades and went full speed into the people/parade watching and right into a bus carrying the royals. So far 4 people are dead and 15 wounded, all celebrations are canceled. Isn't that aweful."

We swim among the good and the bad each and everyday, don't we? xo
