Just Like Mom Used to Make FROSTING. Well this one is just weird: From Wednesday, Jan. 28, through Sunday, Feb. 8, if you bring in an envelope stamped and addressed it to your mom, Saint Cupcake will give you a free full-size cupcake —carrot cake, red velvet or chocolate chip; it’s your choice. “We’ll send Mommy something wacky, but not super-awful, we promise!” swears co-owner and bakery angel Jami Curl. So, yeah, you’re basically trading your mom for frosting. Sold. 407 NW 17th Ave., 473-8760, and 3300 SE Belmont Ave., 235-0078.

Mmm . . . cupcakes. I'm off caffeine, including chocolate. First time I've done that since Lent several years ago. The longer I go, the easier it gets.

Woke up to a crispy-cool 19 degrees this morning. Brr.

Eating is one of the great pleasures of life, and don't worry, I certainly partake occasionally on the weekends. I made chocolate chip cookies, so I can't NOT eat them!
