The universe is made of stories, not atoms. —Muriel Rukeyser
Along with story-telling comes my love for making and playing with a paper fortune teller. Have you ever fiddled around with this algorithm delight? This children's game was a love of mine and always will be. You can unfold the paper figure to predict what your future might hold. My future. My future indeed. I would have never guessed to be living in Portland, Oregon right now. On Sunday after church, Steven and I decided to walk home instead of the usual bussing it or biking it. The walk took us over 2 hours but O what lovely sights were witnessed and images stored in the memory banks. I felt as if we were given the gift of time in addition to that extra hour of daylight. Our feet pushed through the fallen leaves hearing their beautiful crushing and schwooshing sounds. The bright red and yellow leafed trees were just absolutely stunning as they stood so proud and tall. We walked through neighborhood after neighborhood and dreamed of what our house might look like, how he wants to build a boat and how I want to work on a garden. The ideas just rolled out of our mouths like the falling of leaves that day. I'll keep trying to predict my fortune knowing always that I already have one right now. xo xo
And on tomorrow, a Tuesday, November fourth two thousand eight, I predict that Obama will win! He just has too! If you are reading this, leave me a comment with your vote!
