adventures at (and near) home

the saying april showers brings may flowers is no lie around these parts. i secretly adored the rain’s presence over the weekend. you find yourself saying things such as [on friday night to chris and marguerite] ‘no, you don’t need to bring an umbrella with you. its just sprinkling outside.’ or [on our way back from the Mexican restaurant] ‘what an amazing view. do you see the rain pouring down in the far off distance.’ our first stop at Friday's artwalk in Multnomah Village was Indigo Traders. they handed out good-size portions of mediterranean food and of course, yours truly, drops a grape on the floor and all hell break's loose. both Marguerite and Steven say to me 'we just can't take you anywhere, now can we.' he he. Saturday’s rain allowed me to remain in a state of slumber for most of the day. moving myself from the bedroom to the living room even the movie on TV was crashing rain. later that night we attended a dinner where i pretty much stuffed myself silly. the rain continued on into the morning letting up for a few hours which was perfect timing as we were just walking home with groceries in tow. the rain showed its ugly face yet again as we watched from the comfort of the big, red comfy couch while eating pizza and watching series 1 of 5 of Planet Earth narrated by David Attenborough. that was my weekend, full of rain, how was yours? that reminds me. steven and i ride the bus all over town since we do not own a car. riding the bus is like stepping into the twilight zone most of the time. you never know what will happen or what will be said. the other day an old guy said to us 'oh you youngens, you should enjoy your days because death waits for no one.' right then our bus appears and steven replies with 'not even for the bus.' he he...the old guy got a good laugh out of that one.

How do you write Sooo much about the rain :P he he

Well another exciting day so far on planet earth he he I have mostly been watching day time TV especially the morning show with Mike and Juliet it is HILARIOUS!!! I have never seen such a disgusting display of trite nonsense.

The main ingredient to make a day time show successful is a good old fashioned one sided debate!!
Today they were discussing lowering the age of drinking to 18. They had one doctor who was for lowering the age limit and a high school kid VS. several Mothers Against Drunk Driving members a police officer a person who simply reffered to themselfs as an "expert" and a whole audience full of menopausing mothers scared to death even mentioning the word alcohol... oh yeah and an expert on the development of the brain when drinking. I almost forgot the most important ingredient a person who had lost a friend to drunk driving... it was a non stop laughter :)

lowering the drinking age... what they need to do is just let it be a normal thing. let your kids have a beer or a glass of wine on occasion. maybe they won't then abuse it. or tell your parents or be open about it all and say, hey, i'm going to a party to have a few drinks, if i do infact drink a little too in excess, how about let me just spend the night with my friends and see you in the morning.
