derisively, stymied, scoff at, vanguard are all words i normally do not even think to use but i stumbled across them when reading an article on recycling compost in Portland, Oregon. for starters, steven has turned me into a recycling princess. i now recycle plastics, paper and glass. can you believe it? i'm still being policed though because he catches me throwing stuff into the wrong bins marked glass, paper, plastics. what we don't do is compost anything at home. we collect compost at work and where i was going with all of this is that i learned via the article that our compost has to be transported to Seattle or Everett, WA, ~150 miles away from downtown Portland. according to the article, at least 95,000 tons of compost generated in Portland does not even make it to Seattle or Everett. we strive for being Green but we don't have a place to dump our compost. funny, isn't it.

anyways, i have neglected my creative side as of late. the wintertime has made me lazy and feeling very unproductive. then again, so far this year i have begun recycling at home, gone on several hikes up and into Forest Park, watched a few movies of which i fell in and out of sleep during Kelly’s Heros, sorry abouts that ;), used my crockpot for the very first time, watched the hallways in my apartment complex turn from ugly to uglier, used our crowns during a homemade photobooth Friday session and well, i should stop thinking i haven’t been productive so far this year. silly me.
