camped out. sand monkeys attack, chili explodes, what other reasons does one need to visit the Great Pacific Ocean!

the neighbors are way too close for comfort i say.
the love birds. one clearly hotter than the other.
walking to the seaside. only a stone's throw away from camp.
sandwiched in between the campsite and the beach were the beautiful grass covered dunes of the Pacific NW.
the trail thru the dunes opened up to a magificent view of the Pacific Ocean.
a rare glimpse into the strange and bizzare mating rituals of the Pacific NW sand monkey. found only in Oregon the last of the sand monkeys after human activity killed off much of its indigenous habitat.
after chasing off the competition the alpha male, sand monkey, turned his attention on natalie in the pursuit of happyness.
a romantic walk on the beach. knobbly knees included.
we found a particularly fine specimen of sand munchen.
this sand munchen had an ususally good fashion sense.
the perfect pose. struck by SN in a moment of sheer brillance.
two remarkably sexy douchebags.
if you roll your pants up they won't get wet.
lindsay and alex walk towards a brave new future enchanted with mist. little did they know the dragons triangle exists just beyond their grasp.
remants of some kind of sea beast measuring at least 10 feet across with teeth as sharp as razors and a shell harder than any substance known to man.
all day long cloud covered mist finally breaks off to reveal a truly magnificent sunset.
kissing in the moonlight!
spaceship or yurt? comment please.
after a refreshing night out in nature i awoke with backpain, a crink in my neck, nappy hair, bad breath and a powerful lust for civilization and the two big M's: mocha and mcdonald's.

this saturday we ventured out to Nehalmen State Park located on the beautiful Oregon coastline. we knew we were in for trouble when the only campsite spot available was labeled C-4 (high explosives). this marked the precedence for things to come. someone forgot the poles for their tent so we had guests one of which snored loudly. the only time the laughter was silenced for a moment was when a loud popping noise came from alex's backpack. what was it? upon inspection we found that a large glass bottle of good ole' fashioned russian courage had burst from what we suspect to be a build up of unforseen pressure hence the reason it was uncalculated. discouraged for a moment only to realize our close proximity to Russia that we still had a half gallon back at the campsite. later in the day, another explosion rips thru the campsite. at ground zero a unopened can of no beans chili placed ontop a roaring fire took a turn for the worse. chili debris littered the area by a distance of 20 feet missing lindsay and natalie by a fraction of an hedwig inch. despite the terrorists nefarious attempts to stop us from eating the all american hotdog with chili once again the americans prevailed due to being prepared by having another can o' chili on hand. after we ate our hotdogs with chili we returned to the beach hoping for a clear night sky. our wishes came true around 10.30 when the clouds parted to reveal the moon as a ghostly gallion sailing across the sky. this uneasy vision was intensified when my lover abandoned me by running into the midst never to be seen again. later he appeared from nowhere to sweep me off my feet with moonlight kisses. on the way back to camp up the beach the problem became that all the dunes looked alike making it impossible where we came from. however, in a moment of unsurpassed navigational expertise we miraculously located the exact place of which we entered earlier. two poles jutting from the earth's flimsy crust were the landmarks that aided our victory.

the main topics of conversation were ~ should bob marley and bob dylan be considered musicians or complete talentless hacks? jellyfish in general and more specifically their origins from the coral reef and the pancake explaination. the dragons triangle, an area located at the exact opposite side of the world from the bermuda triangle. incidents happen there similar to that in the bermuda triangle but happen far more frequently.

I highly recommend Neptune Beach for its fine tidepools. Camping is not allowed, but they never threw us off the beach . . .

driving thru little towns such as Manzanita, Nehalem, Wheeler, Rockaway Beach, Garibaldi, Tillamook, i noticed places that rented out kayaks. a must do as well as a stop at one of the many crab shacks!

So after having some difficulty getting past two uses of the word "thru," I found this comment:

"I actually didn't think t-h-r-u was a word when I first heard your question, but I looked it up just to be sure and was really surprised to find it in the dictionary, where it is listed as an informal, simplified spelling of the word t-h-r-o-u-g-h.

Wow. So in some instances it appears that it is OK to use thru; but I think I would be remiss if I actually told you to go ahead and use it. My impression is that using the spelling t-h-r-u is kind of equivalent to dotting your i's with little hearts: people will know what you mean, but they'll think you aren't a very serious person. I would definitely stick with the more formal and widely accepted spelling: t-h-r-o-u-g-h."

From grammar.qdnow.com

I totally agree with the dotting your i's with hearts comparison.

But, then again, I'm rather stuffy about that sort of thing.

I always thought the Cannon-Beach-Tillamook-Cheese-Factory-Blue-Heron-Wine-and-Cheese-Florence tour was fun for out-of-towners. Be careful with kayaks in the ocean . . . I think I'd be too scared to do that. Stick with lakes and rivers, man.

thru these parts, i thee eat a big mac. thru these parts, i had a tall mocha with syrupy chocolate sprinkles. thru these parts, we found a man with a pot-belly the size of arkansas selling sweet cherries on the side of the road. thru these parts, we saw these boulders in the waterway displaying the most beautiful of bonzai trees.
