flutter, flutter, tickling, tickling. what?
what are butterflies anyway? what is that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach. wikipedia defines it as butterflies in the stomach is a medical condition characterized by the physical sensation of a "fluttery" or "tickling" (hence butterflies) feeling in the stomach. some believe that this is caused by the release of epinephrine, or adrenaline, when one is nervous, pulling blood away from the stomach and sending it to the muscles. this in turn causes the stomach to temporarily shut down, possibly the reason for loss of appetite when one is "love sick". i'm not love sick, by no means, well at least NOT for a boy. but i feel this right now. i think i'm in love with my life. OUR LIVES are BEAUTIFUL. natty's sidebar note - project photo booth will happen this week. it will. kristina gets back into town and she'll be the perfect partner in crime to pull it off!

I agree, the term 'Butterflies in your stomach' is an odd idiom. The sensation of having you inner stomach tickled should represent something that feels good. Every time I have that sensation I feel like I’m going to throw up. It is not necessarily though a bad thing. I get those 'butterflies' anytime I am in anticipation of something important. It is clearly a psychological phenomenon because every time my worries are averted I instantly feel better. Maybe they should call them 'worry bugs'.
I have a dim childhood memory of thinking I had real butterflies in my stomach and it may have created long term emotional scarring.
