Sounds yummy. Next time you are in these woods, you should try our vegan restaurant or the gourmet restaurant in the old gin. Both are wonderful. Spanish class is fun.

I can't reveal, lest I reveal my location. Both names are very unique. The vegan restaurant is absolutely wonderful, serving such fare as curried potatoes and chick peas, pasta with dried seaweed, and carab-coconut clusters. As for the other place, it is housed in an old cotton gin along the railroad.

my bad. i read so fast, i skipped the part about 'if you are in these woods'...gotcha! i would never ask otherwise since said location that you reside in is TOP SECRET. :) the other night i feasted on:

Tonnato Di Tonno – confit of ahi tuna, celery hearts, capers with frisee and crostini. Pinot Gris

Pizza di Contadino – peasant pizza, spinach pesto, olive tapenate, wild mushrooms, pecorino. Pinot Noir

Spaghetti con Gambaretti Bianchi – squid ink pasta, white prawns white wine garlic butter, capers, and fennel pollen. Garnacha

Rinforzi il filetto – Beef tenderloin, sage brown butter, aged balsamic and roasted asparagus. Syrah. MY FAVORITE

"Confit of ahi tuna" and "squid ink pasta," but no funds for birthday presents? What's wrong with this picture? Hmph.

Oh, I'd like a diploma framed. That's what I think I want for my birthday.

Your four-course dinner and wine pairings sound yummy.

if you READ earlier in the week, i was invited to a COMPLIMENTARY FOOD AND WINE event! ;)

and i still need to get the glass panel on my framed diploma fixed. geez... sorry mom, i haven't done that yet. but it is still in great condition minus the glass.

addendum to last comment

the squid looking pasta was disgusting. i felt like was eating worms that had been dyed black. the confit of ahi was something you could slab between two pieces of white bread. the only thing that was yummy to my palate was the brown sugared tenderloin. again, we each received mini-portions.

AND i haven't received any feedback regarding my extensive, labor inducing, heart wretching efforts with trying to sprinkle hopeful hotel arrangements for YOU! ;)
