The goat cheese is a success at work. We milked goats last weekend, and I got time to make the cheese on Saturday. It wasn't the disaster that I expected, and I just ate my first homemade cheese sandwich (with tomatoes and avocado). I made "tuma," which is a goat mozarella.
We also planted broccoli, which we harvested last weekend (same time we milked the goats). I had to blanch and freeze them because I had so much.
Next adventure is making chocolate ice cream from the goat milk (it's ready to go tonight).
As for the new shoes, he was most excited about them and is wearing them today. They are leather and sort of wide in the toe area, so they look really comfy. He's been wanting shoes for some time now, so I'm glad that's crossed off his list.
So for dinner on Saturday, we had garden-fresh broccoli sauteed in fresh garlic and red pepper, sweet potato hash browns (weird consistency, but better than I expected), and smoked chicken. And for dessert . . . raspberry sorbet.
yum. you need to invite me over for dinner. i need to probably repot my herbs this weekend. they are growing like mad. and i want to paint ONE of my walls in my living room this weekend. what color should i go with?
