It is hard not to be jealous of someone who appears to have something you want yet don't have. Yet, if you were to trade places with them...if you were able to know their intimate memories...maybe it would make you glad you are who you are. :)
When I start thinking in those terms I am usually pretty glad I am who I am...because I wouldn't be who I am without having all the experiences I have had. Did I like them? No, not all of them...but I learned something from each one. (sometimes I had to experience it more than once to really "get" it...so be happy with yourself the way you are...cause I'm happy with you the way you are!

Hi Natalie,
The grass always seems to be greener somewhere else. In fact, it is only true for me, since i'm living in Saudi Arabia, hard to find any grass here.
Marc
i changed my entry today. it read earlier - i need to work on not being jealous of another persons' life. that is their journey, not mine.
i like mine...the grass is just green. always.
How true. The grass does always seem greener. I have found from past experiences that the grass may seem greener but it still has to be mowed!!
Watch out, Natalie! That woman is trying to look down your blouse!
ha ha ... i knew it! i knew the comment of down the blouse would surface! **me giggles**
Indeed she is looking down your blouse.
snarky attack!
well you stood me up in Bend, but that's ok. Hope snowboarding has been good for you this year.
Random thought:
a 747 jet uses approximately a gollon of fuel/second. Each time I fly to germany I use approximately as much fuel as I put in my car all year. It is something to keep in mind in this heated debate of global warming and fingerpointing from left to right.
have a blast this season, be safe
Manuel
manuel, a relaxed mind is a creative mind, that's why i use my feet to get to work. i tried to walk to and from bend but only made it halfway. see, i'm trying to conserve by not buying gasoline. that's one less trip to germany. ;)
What is that piggy doing in the Hilton?
so i will tell you the story of the bus engergy exchange (or shall i say elevation?):
today on the bus a talktive kind woman boarded and sat between me and the driver. She asked which stop would be closest to her destination and he answered, somewhat matter-o-factly. The woman thanked him for assisting her on her journey, and then told him that 95% of the bus drivers were amazing, helpful, and warm. With this he smiled and started talking to her a little bit more. She went on to recount stories of times that bus drivers had guided her and even protected her and how genuinely thankful she was. And as the compliments kept coming, he kept engaging more and more with her...his smile grew and his tone became warmer. you could feel the positive energy growing between them...aplimfying!! I caught myself smiling and realizing the magic i had just witnessed...and how EASY it is to spread!!! one good deed gives positivity, warmth, love and good energy to all in this world. It really just takes one person to start the wave that might touch us all:)
ahhhh....blogs. I recently asked a friend how things have been going for her, knowing that life had been full of ups & downs recently. Her response? "It's in my blog...you can read it to find out." She was serious. No malice or ill-will meant. I found it odd.
Does anyone else experience technology as an excuse to not interact with people on a personal level?
I made a new year's resolution that my friends have been asking me to blog about. (they don't think I can keep it & they want daily updates). I'm tempted to start a blog for that reason. But if I start a blog, what happens on the Tuesday that nothing interesting happened? Do I blog about how many loads of baby laundry I did that day? Do I make something up?
And now I will end the crazy ramblings from a stay-at-home mom.
I bet you're sorry you email'd me, eh Nat?
beautiful. i know you writer of the bus energizer story. there is a word for this which means seemingly effortless beauty. we are full of grace. i feel almost rejuvenated from your post. write on!
brynn, brynn!!! if it weren't for today, i would have kept wondering 'will brynn ever email me back.' so blogs work. i am single and find solace in writing daily. it started off with a little kiss, i mean, it began the day i moved to Portland. a way to keep my mother informed of my daily activities and now i'm glued to sharing and creating new entries each and every day. i still pick up the phone but also can't wait for the next comment. what will the next comment describe and make me feel like... brynn, me wants to see baby Q and that hubby of yours. tell me when? still footing it though...
You sure got lots of comments today. Have a good one!!!
I already posted a comment your MySpace page...can't you cut and paste? :)
We had a black out at work...I went home. Now, I'm going to go shopping! Enjoy your day, Naughty Nat!
the process of buying a house is pretty easy by the way;
the most difficult part was competing with the market. When I bought my first house about 18 months ago, investors were offering money way above the asking price without ever looking at the house.
once you have signed all the papers and jumped through all the hoops it is well worth it. Not a day goes by that I don't love pulling into my driveway.
best of luck!
yes, my plan is to own my very own natalie-purchased bungalow by 2008. next is i'm sending out some love to michele cause she's having a super bad day. like brussel sprouts.
a quirky young woman and an accordingly uniquely chosen house with carefully selected items to make it hers paints a wonderful warm picture. I base this thought on your writings. You should consider writing.
Hey Naughty Natalie!
It is dark in Georgia and the day comes to its end.
Wishing you a beautiful remainder of the day!
Love you from all the E...........................
the story goes one night when Amy was in town visting me from the ATL, it was a long night of carousing and it was time to go home so she shouted out, as if it were my exiting song 'run, naughty nat, run'
The grass being greener on the other side seems to sum up the human condition. We continually strive for more and compare ourselves to others. There is an old poem called "Desiderata" which says that there will always be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Some have more, but many have less. The key, my friend, to happiness is not having what you want, but wanting what you have.
~ csm
and that's something i've always had. yes. i have learned its who you hang out with (your choice) that makes you continue to have what you've always wanted...
Did I give you that shirt?
yes, it is my shirt that makes me look as if i'm donning (sp?) a body tattoo
Wish I had some intelligible and/or witty commentary to add to your Dia De Los Comments, but I spent 12 hours in the OR today, and am fried. Get to get up in a few hours and do it all over again too. Regardless, I am proud to add another number to your comment tally.

can't tell you ALL how much i loved your comments today. keep reaching out! hey kristina, we snowboard this weekend and blue hour it the next!
The night before I found out that a sleeping bag that was supposed to be comfortable to 15 degrees must depend on the person inside it. At about 20 degrees I felt what it was like to be truly cold. Usually during times of discomfort, both mentally and physically, I try to understand it and explain it away. The feeling of cold didn’t allow that and it became unbearable. The original plan of waking up early, making a fire, to warm some hot chocolate and oatmeal while the sun rises against snow-covered Bridger Bowl had to be canceled for a trek back to the car. During the whole time I passed through Yellowstone Park I only saw one vehicle. Even in the dark the park is remarkable. The almost religious awakening came as Wyoming changed from spectacular mountains and vegetation to what most people might call desolate wasteland. As the sun rose it was like an epiphany. From one moment to the next my view of the desert changed, and it changed my life. Immediately I pulled over, stepped out of my car and soaked it all in overwhelmed by the beauty.
Had it been 10 degrees warmer that night I may have never had this experience, which led me to so many hidden treasures In America’s western deserts. Saint-Exupery was right...what makes the desert beautiful is that somewhere it hides a well.
love the nature story. i walk in awe most of the time. this morning, the colors of the morning sky danced in my head. to describe it would not do it justice. treasures are everywhere to be found. remember, continue traveling, continue living, continue breathing and live in the moment. i hide in my happyness, daily. the snow calls my name this weekend. we ride kristina in the AM!
p.s. i'm happy the weather was colder than expected.

snarky (adjective) describes a witty mannerism, personality, or
behavior that is a combination of sarcasm and cynicism. Usually
accepted as a complimentary term. Snark is sometimes mistaken for a
snotty or arrogant attitude.
hey rhett, you big wonk, so that's what snarky means. ;)
Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
