today's squall

nat's got an audrey hepburn haircut look! or at least my bangs are as short as hers. that is about the only thing i got accomplished on saturday. i had one of those saturdays where the one word that comes to mind, uneventful. instead of doing 'something', i was doing much of nothing. and it wasn't bad, not bad at all. i have enough going on during the work week that i need to not always fill up my weekends with adventures. and with this onslaught of rain, the days of doing things more indoors is unveiling its ugly little head. :)

so after visiting a few health clubs and inquiring about membership fees which are astronomically high as i knew they would be, i'm going to take advantage of the hilton's athletic club. its open to the public, its an easy walk right after work (elevator) and i can set it up so that i only have to pay month to month. no processing fees, no signing up fees, no long-term commitments.

and my take on living on my own - the best! except for one thing, how blurpin' quiet it can sometimes get. that is when TV comes in handy. it serves as great background noise.

its RAINING today and i am cursing up a storm because i can't decipher a knitting pattern i'm working on. crap, ugh! its ticking me off. for example, with RS facing and using backward loop cast on, loosely CO 32 sts. Div sts onto DPNs and join to work in the round. i'm not sure i'm ready for this one. i'm going to look up knitty's list of standard abbreviations after i'm done here. this month, i will at least successfully prepare a garlic soup with mussels dish.

RS - Right Side
CO- cast On
DPN's- Double Pointed Needles- You can probably do this with a circular needle and skip the douple pointed needles- It might be tight at first but afer the first go around it will loosen up. If you end up decreasing at all you might have to move to DPN to finish.
I have never done a backwards cast on but I think I have seen it and it's pretty easy once you do it.
I hope this helps. You probably have already figured this out.
