a photo hunt

after watching my favorite movie, happy accidents, for the 4th time -- the scene where sam shows off to ruby's friends a binary code tatoo located on his underarm produced this chill up and down my spine -- a steadily escalating sense of foreboding, isn't it? i will pay better attention next time is what i'm trying to say here. ;) i believe that life is made up of a multitude of 'little happy accidents.' the most recent of them is my friendship with jen.

where do i begin? i started my saturday with a walk to the library. on my way home, i stopped at my favorite store, stella's, to scout out the (2) bike bells i've had my eyes on for quite some time. stella recognized me and said "is today the day?" with my bike bells purchased, and so 'girlie' they are, i found time for a nap and a quick dash to t.j's to stock up on dinner. i met up with jen at b-ville on hawthorne -- a good halfway point. after situating her bell on bike, we decided to head back to the west bank. the laughter jostled back and forth between us ringing our bells could have made the most diminutive man giggle inside. the blues festival was a happening on the waterfront and you could see boats anchored along the shore line as well as droves wanting to just sit in the sun and enjoy the music. we found a bench and ate a gourmet dinner made by nat. right as we were about ready to go, the sprinklers came on -- good timing.

i learned about pinhole photography and how the east bank's walkway/sidewalk moves with the water yet secured by these huge poles that have been planted into the bed of the river.

we mosey'd are way back passing the lewis & clark restaurant -- cedar st. -- division st. -- found ourselves a tad lost, done on purpose and as we closed in on mt. tabor, i saw for the 3rd time the guy from the bikeshop. we should have stopped... ;) he had a friend with him. almost gasping for air, we plummeted to the ground once we arrived at jen's apt. her neighbors were ever so the 'friendly artsy-fartsy' kind... and the surprise was a new purse with footies. awesome! its really awesome. we watched happy accidents and since it was so late i crashed out on her couch. left at like 7.30 AM and bike-tailed it back to overton. this morning, the easiest route to take is belmont, turn off and take salmon street all the way down to the h-bridge. on the NW side, take 14th all the way to overton. all bike lane user friendly. and i need to practice loading my bike on the bus if i ever want to just bus it back. i'm sure its easy but i have never done it before.

in the new: a gigantic fireball 800 million light years away has been discovered and watch out for the ingredient, titanium dioxide, in sunscreen -- the particles would most likely lead to brain damage. and according to The Week, the average american now has just two close friends. are we becoming more isolated?

and i've stumbled across sarah harmers' music. nice... the words make me actually laugh these days. check out the lyrics to 'around the corner' some of which are...

how can you forgive that fast?
why do they call it the past
oh, when nothing has passed

here's jen -- for some reason she got sprayed by the sprinklers and by the water coming up thru cracks on the pier while i seemed to stay pretty dry? eh?

and m. and s. -- see you in the AM -- i've hidden YOUR water guns... awe, shucks, too bad. :)
