ohhhhhhhh, snap! [almost]

watching the world cup is my eye-candy for an entire month - especially edman from sweden ~ but of course, i'm rooting for the nederlands. so instead of running a 5K last night which was the result of my knitting class finishing up around 5 PM (yes, a 4 hour class took place) and wanting to take it easy instead, i went to my very first soccer game in portland. a tied gamed between the timbers vs. whitecaps. sorry michele, i got your voice mail message after 5...i'll call you today to see if we can catch up. by the way, i loved teaching my (2) students how to knit. i saw the same zeal in their eyes as i had when i first started out.

so i'm up and about this morning. i went for an extended jog and stopped at the fat tire farm to pick up some info. on bike routes. a great site is getting around portland. i feel like i've stepped into another world. gives me the means to roam further out of the city limits. and in the next month, jen and i are going to rack up our bikes on the back of her car and head out to sauvie island. i read an article in the portland tribune about don kruger, owner of kruger's farm market on sauvie island. fields where u-pick hood strawberries, blueberries, blackberries & raspberries. i can't wait! (there is a late season strawberry that has a 'little more legs' on july 4th). we'll have to hit it then, my friend!

next weekend i'm heading to seattle via car. that way, i can stop along the way and take my time back and forth from seattle. to those who read my blog, if you've been, please give me some input on what i should see and do? check out the
space needle webcam and the seattle farmers market.

and i HIGHly recommend grocery home delivery. mom, safeway rules! oh yea, as i made my way over here to the library, a 'for sale' sign was hanging in my dream car: a 2002 V70 XC awd Volvo. maybe in a couple of years after i buy a house. i'm working progress and i'm going to do it ALL on my own. :)
